Graduate Program


The Neuroscience Institute admits students into a program leading to the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree. A Master of Science is earned en route to the Neuroscience Ph.D. degree.

Degree requirements:
• Core coursework 
         Cellular, Systems, Behavioral Neuroscience, Statistical Methods, Introduction to Graduate
         Studies, and Survival Skills in Academia.
• Neuroscience Electives (3-4 hours)
• Topics, Seminar, and Concepts Course (7-8 hours)
• A Qualifying Exam
• A Dissertation
Students accepted into the Neuroscience Institute doctoral program may work with Core or Associate faculty members. Incoming students may elect to work with a particular faculty mentor or may chose to rotate between two or three laboratories during the first year.
