B&B Scholar Alum Jenna Harris Awarded Genetics Society of America Honors

Jenna M. Harris (Neuroscience/Psych major) in the Cox lab, has been selected for two prestigious honors from the Genetics Society of America (GSA) for her undergraduate research on Drosophila.

Jenna was selected for the Victoria Finnerty Undergraduate Travel Award sponsored by GSA, and is 1 of only 6 undergraduates selected for the special session “Spotlight on Undergraduate Research”.  This is an oral platform talk, in addition to her scheduled poster presentation.  Jenna will be traveling with the Cox lab to San Diego the last week of March for the Annual Drosophila Research Conference (the premier international meeting in the field of fly genetics).  

Jenna has been supported by a summer Brains & Behavior Scholarship and currently by an Undergraduate Assistantship.  She has been mentored and continues to be by Brains & Behavior Fellow Alum, Dr. Ravi Das.  In addition to her research, Jenna has interviews for doctoral programs at U Chicago, Scripps, Brandeis, and Emory.  Jenna also won 1st place at this past years ACSfN poster session.
