2018 IMSD Scholar Nicolette Barnett Authors Paper & Secures Travel Award to SfN

Undergraduate IMSD Scholar Nicolette Barnett (who had a B&B Scholarship in 2015) grabs second authorship on exciting paper in press. Hailing from the lab of B&B Neuroscience Faculty Marise Parent, Barnett teamed up with post-doc Amy Ross (1st author), Alexa Faulkner (B&B Scholar Alum, current Neuroscience grad student at the Univ. of Michigan) and Reilly Hannapel (GSU Neuro grad student) on a project exploring how ingestion of food affects synaptic plasticity in neurons known to be associated with food intake and memory.

In addition, Nicolette was also awarded a travel fellowship this month from FUN/Nu Rho Psi to present her first author poster at this fall’s 2018 Society for Neuroscience meeting in San Diego.

Congrats Nicolette!
