SOFTWARE
GSU offers student, faculty, and staff most licensed software you might need. This page's intention is to list what comes installed and is immediately available to Neuroscience Windows and Mac computers; along with highlighting some exceptions.
Check the GSU managed and Neuroscience curated app store Software Center for optional one-click installs of most GSU software. To access Software Center on Windows search Start Menu for 'Software Center'. On your Mac browse for Software Center in your Applications folder.

Notable Exceptions
GSU maintains a campus MATLAB license. Due to its large size (30 GB+) MATLAB is difficult to package for deployment so it is not available via Software Center. If you need MATLAB installed on your GSU computer contact University Research Centers Technology at [email protected]. For personal computers students have a one-computer license (see guide here) while staff have a multiple computer license (see guide here).
Labs are responsible for maintaining their own Prism licensing. It is required you University Research Centers Technology [email protected] as an "alternate administrator" to your Prism license.
Most labs maintain a 2-seat license. Typically, one license is installed on a physical lab computer while the other is maintained by Neuroscience Technology on a virtual department Windows instance so that it can be easily managed and accessed remotely via Neuroscience Guacamole.
The labs currently maintaining a Prism license are:
- Albers
- Bolton
- de Vries Forger
- Frantz
- Mabb
- Murphy
- Parent
