Ravi Das

Grad Student    

Ravi Das joined the Neuroscience Institute in Fall 2014 transferring from George Mason Univ. with his PI, Dr. Daniel Cox. His current research focuses on systems neuroscience level investigations of how multiple local interactions of cytoskeletal components contribute to the establishment, maintenance and modulation of cell-type specific dendritic arbors and dendritic field specification using Drosophila melanogaster as a model organism. Prior to this, Ravi’s research focused on exploring the roles of TAR RNA and host miRNA machinery in exosomes of HIV-1 and HTLV-1 infected cells. During his doctoral training, Ravi has enjoyed undergraduate teaching in cell biology and mentoring undergraduate research assistants in the lab. In his free time Ravi likes traveling and photography.
