- Biography
Dr. Zhipeng Cai is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Georgia State University, an Affiliate Professor in the Department of Computer Information Systems at Robinson College of Business, and the Associate Director of Georgia State’s INSPIRE Center. Dr. Cai’s research expertise lies in the areas of resource management and scheduling, high-performance computing, cyber-security, privacy, networking, and big data. His research has received funding from multiple academic and industrial sponsors, including the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of State. He has published over 100 publications in top journals and conferences (including over 80 IEEE/ACM Transactions papers), which have been cited more than 14,500 times. He appeared in Stanford University’s list of the World’s Top 2% Scientists in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023.
Dr. Cai is Editor-in-Chief for Wireless Communications and Mobile Computing and Associate Editor-in-Chief for High-Confidence Computing, published by Elsevier. He is also an editor for various prestigious journals, such as IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering (TKDE), IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology (TVT), IEEE Transactions on Wireless Communications (TWC), and IEEE Transactions on Computational Social Systems (TCSS). He serves as a Steering Committee Co-Chair for International Conference on Wireless Algorithms, Systems, and Applications (WASA) and a Steering Committee member for COCOON (CCF B), IPCCC (CCF C) and ISBRA (CCF C). Dr. Cai has served as a General/Program Chair for numerous international conferences, including ICDCS, SocialCom, and ISBRA. Dr. Cai has supervised over 20 Ph.D. students, 12 of whom are now tenure-track faculty members in U.S. institutions. Dr. Cai is an NSF CAREER Award recipient and an IEEE Fellow.
